Abstract

The purpose of this study is (1) identifying and describing vegetable marketing channels in Kerinjing Village Agung Lawangan Subdistrict Dempo Utara District Pagar Alam City, (2) analyzing vegetable price fluctuations in Kerinjing Village Agung Lawangan Subdistrict Dempo Utara District Pagar Alam City, (3) calculating the elasticity of vegetable price transmission from consumers to farmers in Kerinjing Village Agung Lawangan Subdistrict Dempo Utara District Pagar Alam City. This research method is a survey methods. The sampling method used for farmer is simple random sampling with a sample of 34 respondents, while the sampling method used for the marketing institutions is snowball sampling with a sample of 10 respondents. The marketing channels are described descriptively, the fluctuation of vegetable price are analyzed using unweighted price index, then analysis of the elasticity of vegetable price transmission using simple linear regression. The result indicated that there are five marketing channels with the most chosen channel pattern is marketing channel 3. The highest vegetable price fluctuations is chicory 54,39 percent, then cabbage 53,62 percent and big red chili is 12,55 percent. Price transmission elasticity of chicory is 1,419 (β>1), cabbage is 0,953 (β<1) and big red chili is 0,689 (β<1), so the vegetable marketing in Kerinjing Village can be said to be inefficient.
