Abstract

This study aims to determine the combined dose of the treatment of rice husk ash and cow manure which gives the best results on the growth and production of soybean plants in Ultisol. This research was conducted at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya. This research was conducted from September 2019 to February 2020. The experimental design used randomized block design (RBD) with two factors, namely rice husk ash consisting of two levels, namely 3,75 ton ha-1 (A1), 7,5 ton ha-1 (A2) and the dose of cow manure is made up of three levels of control (P0), 10 ton ha-1 (P1), 20 ton ha-1 (P2). Each combination was repeated for three replications, so there are 18 polybags of expreriment. Variables observed were soil analysis data, rice husk ash and cow manure before the study, analysis of some soil chemical properties during primordia (soil pH, N-Total, and C-Organic), soybean plant growth which included plant height, plant N uptake on stover, total number of pods, number of filled pods, seed weight per plant and soybean production. The results showed that the administration of rice husk ash and cow manure were effective in increasing nutrient availability and reducing soil acidity. In soybean plants, cow manure is given a significant effect on soil pH, plant height, plant N uptake in stover, total number of pods, number of filled pods, seed weight per plant and soybean production. Whereas the administration of rice husk ash did not significantly affect all variables as well as the interaction between rice husk ash and cow manure.
