Abstract

Ecosystem conditions in PT. Bara Alam Utama is thought to have changed due to coal mining will then affect biodiversity, such as the loss of species from the Odonata which acts as a bioindicator of ecosystem quality and disease vector biocontrol. The reduced area that supports the growth and development of Odonata species is thought to have an impact on the decline in population and diversity of this species. The method used was purposive sampling in areas based on characteristics and habitat areas. Sampling was carried out by the cruising method at each sampling location and the time search method the sample capture was limited to time (minutes) in one sampling location, laying was carried out by the random sampling method around in the settling pond. The study was conducted in December 2019. Environmental conditions (water and air) in the area of PT. Bara Alam Utama is still stable and does not exceed environmental quality standards, so that the species of the Odonata order can still be active, populated and able to lay eggs and sufficient food sources for Odonata with no visible eating behavior between species of the Odonata. In the species diversity ecosystem of Odonata in the settling pond area is classified as medium, with an average diversity index value of 1.66 and found as many as 2 sub-ordo, 4 families and 14 species.
