Abstract

The title of this study was "The Devolopment of PT Timah Tbk Metallurgical Unit in Muntok Sub-District, West Bangka Regency in the year of 2010-2018 (Contribution of History Course Material of South Sumatera)". The problems in the research are how the development of PT Timah Tbk Metallurgical Unit and how the role of PT Timah Tbk Metallurgical Unit in the socio-economic field of society in Muntok Sub-District, West Bangka Regency in the year of 2010-2018. The method that was used in this study was a historical method with steps: heuristic, source criticism, interpretation of data and historiography. The approach which used in this research is the sociological and economic approach. Based on the research results, it was found that PT Timah Tbk Metallurgical Unit as one of the State-Owned Enterprises that manages natural resources in the District of Muntok, West Bangka Regency is not only focused on industrial activities, but also performs its obligations, namely through corporate social responsibilities to the community. The existence of the program of the company certainly provides a role in the social and economic life of the community. The following responsibilities of the company are on the social field to observe the role in education, healty and religion. Assistance in the field of education in the form of assistance in the construction of school buildings for early childhood education (PAUD) as well as facilities & infrastructure, in the field of health assistance for medical assistance and wheelchairs, in the field of religious include religious activities, facilities and infrastructure of the mosque. In the economic sector, assistance is in the form of developing community empowerment and cooperatives. Keywords : Tin, Development, Society, Social, Economic
