Abstract

Rubber (Hevea brasillienasis) is one of the important commodity of plantation plants in Indonesia with the main result of rubber latex. Rubber production in Indonesia often has a number of reductions so that rubber exports also decline. Various factors that cause the number of rubber production is one of them is the problem of disease in rubber plants. The white root desease caused by fungal pathogens Rigidoporus Microporus is a major disease in rubber plants that can last for many years in soil (soil borne disease). In the advanced stage, this disease can lead to plant death which will then spread through the soil and infect healthy crops. Control of white root diseases that have been done, among others, with the use of synthetic fungicide, technical culture, mechanical, sanitation, and biological control. Biological control with the utilization of antagonistic agens is an alternative that is currently widely researched and used because it is assessed more effectively and environmentally friendly. Microorganisms that live in the rhizosphere area are suitable for use as biological control agens, given that the rhizosphere is the main area where the roots of the plant are exposed to pathogenic attacks. The research aims to obtain bacteria from the origin of the rubber plant rhizosphere to be developed as the biological agens of R. Microporus fungi. This research was conducted at the Nusantara Plantation Research Laboratory of Sembawa Rubber Research Center, Banyuasin regency of South Sumatera Province in October 2019 until February 2020. This research is an exploratory method of exploration of R. Microporus fungi. The isolates of the bacteria obtained will be in the inhibitory test of the growth of R. Microporus fungi in vitro and antagonistic isolates will be tested in characterization. The antagonistic bacterial treatment using complete random design (CRD) with 6 treatments and 3 repeats applied to the WRF stick. The results of the exploration gained 20 isolates of bacteria and based on in vitro testing acquired 1 isolates of antagonistic bacteria with 2b1 isolates code.
