Abstract

Segmentation of blood vessels in the fundal retinal image becomes substantial in medicine, because it can be used to detect diseases, such as diabetic retinopathy, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease. The purpose of this paper is to ease medics to diagnose diseases in fundal images. In this study, the author used the Adaptive Thresholding method for segmentation of fundus images. The Adaptive Thresholding method is used as the initial segmentation. The initial input taken from the fundus image is the green channel, then processed with Adaptive Thresholding. The final result of Adaptive Thresholding segmentation is blood vessels. The dataset used in this study is the STARE and DRIVE dataset. The experimental scenario used a comparison of Adam Hoover's Ground Thruth and Valentina Kouznetsova on the STARE and DRIVE dataset. This study, it was obtained the results of accuracy, sensitivity on the STARE dataset is 91.00%, 50.38% (Ground thruth Adam Hoover), 90.01%, 46.00% (Ground thruth Valentina Kouznetsova) and for the DRIVE dataset were 91.99%, 48.35%.
