Abstract

PT. Sumber Gunung Maju is an andesite stone mining company that has a manufactured sand production target of 1000 m3 / day, where the production target has never been reached. The purpose of this study is to analyze the performance of the sand plant unit, obstacles, work efficiency, and the availability of tools. This analysis is done by calculating the value of the reduction ratio (RR), the productivity of the sand plant unit, material balance, work efficiency, and the availability of tools. From the research results it can be seen the reduction ratio (RR) on the vertical shaft impactor (VSI) has an actual RR of 1.76. From the results of the material balance in the crushing process, there were looses of 14.03 m3 / hour from the total incoming feeds of 78.81 m3 / hour with a percentage of looses of 17.8% and a percentage of products of 82.8%. While the results of the material balance in the sizing process obtained looses of 13.68 m3 / hour of the total incoming feeds of 167.68 m3 / hour with a percentage of looses of 8.14% and a percentage of products of 91.86%. The obstacles that occur in the sand plant unit with a total time of mechanical and non-mechanical obstacles of 47.51 hours and 52.99 hours. So that the effective working time at the sand plant unit is 371.5 hours from the available 472 hours. So the work efficiency of the sand plant unit is 78.71%. In this case, it can be seen that work efficiency obtained shows that working conditions are not good. Based on the calculation of the availability of sand plants, obtained MA values = 85.40%, PA = 86.99%, EU = 78.71%, and UA = 87.52%. These results are still below the company standard of at least 90%.
