Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of bioadsorbent peel of lengkeng (Dimocarpus longan L.) to adsorb malachite green, congo red and rhodamine-B dyes by using pH variations, time variations and variations in concentration and temperature. Desorption and regeneration are used to determine the suitable solution to release dyes in peel of lengkeng bioadsorbent (D.longan L.) and to determine the adsorption ability repeatedly. Longan (D.longan L.) bioadsorbent was characterized by using FTIR, BET, TG-DTA, SEM-EDX and XRD. FTIR characterization so that in the peel of lengkeng fruit there are active groups such as -OH, C-H alifatik, C=O and Si-O-Si. Surface area peel of lengkeng (D longan L.) 17,175 m2 / g based on the characterization BET. TG-DTA analysis so that peel of lengkeng (Dlongan L.) may experience decomposition marked by the loss of water content in bioadsorbent. Based on SEM-EDX characterization, the most composition peel of lengkeng (D longan L.) bioadsorbent is oxygen at 90.4% composition percentage. XRD characterization showed bioadsorbent peel of lengkeng (D longan L.) is a amorf type. The adsorption process shows that each of the adsorption of dyes malachite green and rhodamine-B dyes using peel of Lengkeng’s (D longan L.) bioadsorbent following the pseudo first order kinetics model while the congo red dyes followed the pseudo second order kinetics model. The parameters of adsorption isotherm of malachite green, congo red and rhodamine-B tend to follow the Freundlich isotherm model.
