Abstract

Air table merupakan alat pemisah mineral berharga (konsentrat) dengan mineral pengotor (middling) berdasarkan prinsip perbedaan berat jenis dan ukuran menggunakan media udara. Permasalahan muncul karena middling yang dihasilkan masih mengandung konsentrat dan kadar middling relatif tinggi sehingga middling perlu dilakukan proses kembali. Dalam mengatasi hal itu perlu dilakukan pengaturan variable (setting) antara lain kemiringan, hal ini untuk meningkatkan perolehan konsentrat agar dapat mengoptimalkan waktu dan biaya operasional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh kemiringan terhadap kadar Sn konsentrat dan recovery yang dihasilkan. Proses pengolahan menggunakan 2 (dua) percobaan dengan sample yang berbeda menggunakan variasi kemiringan 2,81o, 3,37o dan 3,94o sedangkan variabel tetapnya yaitu frekuensi pukulan 590 pukulan/menit dengan panjang pukulan 8mm, tekanan udara untuk air blower 1,5 atm dan diameter lubang feeder 1 cm. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa semakin tinggi sudut kemiringan air table maka kadar Sn akan cenderung recoverytinggi, sedangkan recovery cenderung semakin rendah. Pada kedua percobaan recovery tertinggi diperoleh pada kemiringan 2,81o sedangkan kadar Sn konsentrat tertinggi diperoleh pada kemiringan 3,94o .
