Abstract

Accumulation of heavy metals Pb and Cu in blue swimming crab (Portunus pelagicus) caught using bottom set gillnet at Banyuasin Coastal, South Sumatera (Supervisor : Dr. Wike Ayu Eka Putri, S.Pi., M.Si and Dr. Fauziyah S.Pi) Coastal of Banyuasin is one of the areas that has great fishery potential in South Sumatra Province. Fishermen around the Coastal of Banyuasin is mostly used Bottom set gillnet to catch blue swimming crabs (Portunus pelagicus). The shipping and agriculture activities can cause water pollution by heavy metals. This study aims to determine the concentration heavy metals of Pb and Cu metals in blue swimming crabs caught with a gillnet bottom set on the Banyuasin Coastal and compare them with specified quality standards. Sampling on the Coastal of Banyuasin using fishing survey methods. Blue swimming crab samples were analyzed with AAS according to SNI 2354.5: 2011 for Pb and SNI 2354.13: 2014 for Cu. The results showed that range of Pb and Cu concentrations in blue swiming crab were 0.62-2.48 mg / kg Pb and 2.5-11.6 mg / kg Cu respectively. Based on the quality standards by BPOM Number. 5 2018 and SNI 7387 2009 the concentration of Pb metal has exceeded the threshold quality standards, however, based on FAO (1983) and Director general of POM (1989) only at station 4 that exceed the threshold quaility standard. The concentration of Cu exceed the FAO (1983) threshold only at station 5 and based on the Director General of POM (1989) concentration of Cu in blue swimming crabs still safe for consumption.
