Abstract

This research is a quantitative research . This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of the GAVALA learning model on learning outcomes in electrochemical materials in the Physics Education study program at Sriwijaya University. The method in this research is quasi-experimental. The population of this research is all students of physics education at Sriwijaya University. Palembang Physics Education Class 1 semester 2019/2020 academic year as an experimental class and Indralaya Physics Education class 1 semester 2019/2020 academic year as a control class. The research data was taken from student test data with an average score of 60.57% for the experimental class posttest and 47.08% for the control class. This posttest value was analyzed using a hypothesis test that is t-test at a significant level of 5% with the test criteria used were accept H0 if t count < ttable and reject H0 if t count > t table, the results of hypothesis testing using t-test found that tcount was 2,278 and ttable 2,004, from these results it is known that tcount> ttable is 2,278> 2,004 so H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. This shows that there is an influence of the GAVALA learning model on learning outcomes in electrochemical material in Physics Education at Sriwijaya University.
