Abstract

This experiment aimed to evaluate the effects of organic and inorganic fertilizers on the growth and yield of edamame soybean. This experiment was conducted In March 2017 until May 2017 at experimental station of Agricultural Faculty Sriwijaya University Indralaya. The method used in this experiment was randomized completly block design. It consisted of 7 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments were 10 ton ha-1 of palm oil empty fruit bunch compost + 25% of NPK fertilizers (K1), 10 ton ha-1 of palm oil empty fruit bunch compost + 50% of NPK fertilizer (K2), 10 ton ha-1 of chicken manure + 25% of NPK fertilizer (K3), 10 ton ha-1 of chicken manure + 50% of NPK fertilizer (K4), 20 ton ha-1 of palm oil empty fruit bunch compost (K5), 20 ton ha-1 of chicken manure (K6), and 100% of NPK fertilizer (K7). The results showed that organic and inorganic fertilizer gave the best growth and effect on 10 ton ha-1 of chicken manure + 50% of NPK fertilizer (K4), while the best effect of organic fertilizer was 20 ton ha-1 of chicken manure (K6). 20 ton ha-1 of palm oil empty fruit bunch compost (K5) and inorganic fertilizer 100 % of NPK (K7) were gave the low yield of edamame soybean.
