Abstract

This research focused to examine the perfomance of double roll type candlenut shelling machines on soaking time and roll rotation speed one. This research was conducted in January 2020 to February 2020 at the Laboratory of Agriculture Equipment and Machine Tools in Agricultural Engineering Study Program, Agricultural Technology Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya, South Sumatra. This research used methodology framework which applied a Factorial Randomized where these research were using three levels experiment and every experiment has three times iteration. These parameters of this study are the percentage of intact core, percentage of damaged core, percentage of damaged core, percentage of seed escaped, working capacity of the tool, and fuel requirements. Group Design with two factors, namely (a) soaking time and (b) rotation speed, the results of this study prove that the long immersion study did not have a significant effect on the percentage of intact, cores that were destroyed, and the seeds escaped as far as the real effect on the percentage of damaged core sticks. The highest value percentage of seed candlenut reveals that the figure combination of A2B2 shows at 1.55%. The highest value percentage of sticky seeds depicts that the figure combination of A3B1 shows at 43,47%. The highest value percentage of vulnerable seeds reveal that the figure combination of A1B1 shows at 15.50%. Meanwhile, the highest value percentage of passed seeds indicate that the figure combination of A1B3 shows at 36,50%
