Abstract

Mining companies must carry geotechnical studies that support mining designs before exploitation activities. This research is motivated by the changes material that occur in pit A and geological structures that cause landslide. The purpose of this research to classify rocks, get description, landslide information, and slope stability to resolve landslide problems on the site, therefore Rock Mass Rating (RMR) , Slope Mass Rating (SMR) and Bishop methods are used in analyzing and evaluating the stability of these slopes. Analysis of rock mass classification using the Rock Mass Rating (RMR) and Slope Mass Rating (SMR) methods shows the results that the rock conditions in area are included in the class IV classification with description bad, not stable, and has plane or block landslide type. To resolve landslide, based on the results of calculations and analysis of slope stability, the most optimal and stable slope design is with a single slope height (Hs) 6 m, single slope angular angle (β) 45o, bench width 15,75 m. Safety factor value obtained is 1.440 according to the criteria for stable slope.
