Abstract

The objective of this research was aimed to evaluate growth and yield of kangkong cultivated in two different polybag size dimentions and addition of goat manure. The research from October to December 2019 at Desa Pelabuhan Dalam, Kecamatan Pemulutan, Ogan Ilir, South Sumatera. This research was floating culture using 2x1 meter rafts and arranged in randomized block design factorial with 2 factors. The first factor was goat manure thickness consisted of three compositions i.e 1 cm (K1) equivalent to 75,79 grams in polybag size dimensions of 40 cm length x 30 cm width and 100,52 grams in polybag size dimensions of 35 cm length x 35 cm width, 2 cm (K2) equivalent to 151,58 grams in polybag size dimensions of 40 cm length x 30 cm width and 201,04 grams in polybag size dimensions of 35 cm length x 35 cm width, and 3 cm (K3) equivalent to 227,37 grams in polybag size dimensions of 40 cm length x 30 cm width and 301,56 grams in polybag size dimensions of 35 cm length x 35 cm width. The second factor was polybag size dimensions, consisting of 40 cm length x 30 cm width (P1) and 35 length x 35 cm width (P2). Results exhibited that combination of goat manure and polybag size dimensions and not significantly affect growth and yield of kangkong. Result combination treatment of 3 cm goat manure thickness was equivalent to 301,56 grams. Result in highest of plant height (cm), number of leaves (strands), plant fresh weight (grams), stem fresh weight (grams), stem dry weight (grams), and leaf chlorophyll level was the best treatment. Polybag size dimensions of 35 cm length x 35 cm width produced the highest number of leaves (strands), root fresh weight (grams), stem fresh weight (grams), leaf fresh weight (grams), plant dry weight (grams), root dry weight (grams), stem dry weight (grams), and leaf chlorophyll level.
