Abstract

This study aims to determine the Performance Of Oven Shelf Type Drying On Bsf Larva. This study uses descriptive data methods and presentations in the form of tables and graphs. Data analysis technique used in this study is quantitative data analysis techniques with descriptive statistics, the data obtained are tabulated in tabular form and interpreted through graphs which will then be a reference in making a description of the work test of the oven. The parameters observed include the moisture content of the material (%), the drying rate (% / hour), the effective capacity of the tool (kg / hour), the power requirements (kWh). The results showed that the stepwise drying temperature regulator can operate according to the desired temperature and time span. Drying temperature of 60⁰C can reduce the water content of BSF (larvaeBlack Soldier Fly)from 66% to 11% within 12 hours. The lowest rack type drying oven effective capacity is 0.031 kg / hour and the highest is 0.074 kg / hour. The highest drying rate of rack type drying oven is 4.75% / hour, because the high water content of 11% results in high drying rate. The power requirement to achieve the desired drying is 6.21 kWh. drying using a rack type drying oven is very efficient because it does not reduce or damage the protein content in BSF (larvaeBlack Soldier Fly).
