Abstract

This study aims to describe: (1) implementation empowering farming communities in an ,effort to increase rice yields through the Farmer Group program (2) knowing the inhibiting factors within the implementation of the Sumbersari Farmers Group program (3) knowing the income and production costs. This research method uses an approach qualitative and quantitative by determining informants using purposive techniques. Data obtained using in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Results research shows that the implementation of community empowerment of farmers in increasing rice yields in the Sampura Jaya Farmers Group, the LayangSubur Farmers Group, the Layang Jaya Farmers Group and the Sepakat Young Farmers Group the programs that are carried out are in accordance with the needs of members Farmers. Then the farmer group members are more empowered because of the development of abilities and skills carried out by PPL officers through education, training, counseling and assistance. Although in the implementation of community empowerment, farmers are still present internal and external inhibiting factors, but can be overcome with innovation farmer group administrators and assistance from the government. Therefore implementation of farmer community empowerment in the Farmers Group can be said to be successful, the members claimed there was an increase rice productivity between before theyjoined and afterjoining iefrom the harvest of members with land area of 1 and 314 ha, the income is usually 3 tons Dry rice is now 6 tons of dry rice.
