Abstract

This research intended to determine the working effective capacity of coconut coir deformation machines in different types of materials and different blade rotational speeds. This research was carried out in November 2019 to March 2020 at the Supervisor’s House , Mr. Tri Tunggal in Bukit Lama, Palembang, South Sumatra. The method used in this study was a factorial randomized block design (RAKF) with two factors, namely, the type of material (A) and the blade rotational speed (B), each factor consisting of three levels. Each treatment combination was repeated three times. The parameters on this study are the effective capacity of the machine, and the yield. The results of this study indicate that the type of material and blade rotational speed significantly affect the effective capacity of the machine and yield. While the interaction between material types and blade rotational speed did not significantly affect all parameters. The highest and lowest effective engine capacities are found in the types of empty palm fruit bunches (89.02 kg / hour) and coconut coir (27.12 kg / hour). The highest and lowest effective engine capacities are respectively at a rotational speed of 1600 rpm (55.94 kg / hr) and a rotational speed of 1200 rpm (43.39 kg / hr). The highest and lowest percentage of fine ingredients are each type of coconut coir and empty palm fruit bunches which are 46.41% and 12.91% respectively. The highest and lowest yields of the decomposition results were in the types of oil empty palm fruit bunches and coconut coir, namely 87.11% and 75.44%, respectively.
