Abstract

Health services are very important in improving people's welfare. One of the health service facilities is through alternative complementary medicine. Data from Dinas Kesehatan Musi Banyuasin shows that 285 alternative complementary medicine known as battra / hattra, while for Sekayu sub-district is 27 hattra and battra with people using traditional medicine is 25%. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between predisposition factors towards alternative complementary medicine in Sekayu District, Musi Banyuasin Regency in 2019. This research is a quantitative study using a cross sectional study design. The data used are primary data obtained from research results in the field. Data were analyzed univariate, bivariate and multivariate. The sample in this study amounted to 126 respondents who were selected according to inclusion and exclusion criteria using cluster techniques. The results of this study indicate that people who use alternative complementary medicine are 85.7%. The results of bivariate analysis in this study prove that the sex variables (p-value <0.018), education (p-value <0,000), employment (p-value 0.018), knowledge (p-value <0.002) and attitude (p-value > 1,000). This research alternative can be seen as gender, education, occupation and knowledge related to the importance of health services through alternative complementary medicine. Education is the most dominant variable in relation to complementary alternative therapies (p value <0,001, PR7,578; 95% CL: 2,302-24,944). So that for the community and health services using alternative complementary medicine that has been clinically tested so that the drugs used are effective and do not have harmful effects on the body.
