Abstract

One of the fishing gear that is widely used by fishermen in coastal Banyuasin is lift net, the factor of lift net fishing is determining the length of time for withdrawal and time for fishing which is presumed to have an conducted on the number of catches. The purpose of this study is to determine the effective time for setting and hauling the net based on the acoustic method, analyzing fish aggregation patterns on the effect of light lamps based on hauling duration, target strength (TS) and verified of catches to strengthen the analysis results. This research was conducted in November 2019 on the lift net of Banyuasin waters. Hydroacoustic survey using Scientific Echosounder SIMRAD EK15 single beam frequency 200 KHz instrument. The data were processed using SONAR 5 software, Surfer 9, and Microsoft Excel. The results show that the best duration to set hauling nets in the lift net of Banyuasin Waters is around afternoon until midnight with a duration of 17 - 32 minutes. The pattern of fish agregration under the influence of the lights gathered when the lights are first turned on, namely in the duration of 1 - 32 minutes and begins to spread in the duration of 33 - 64 minutes. The average fish length ranges from 5.48 cm to 7.91 cm and the TS value is -62.65 dB to -65.41 dB. The density of fish obtained from the acquisition of acoustic data ranges from 14,04 gr/m3 – 2347,19 gr/m3. The results for the verification of the density value of fish and the catch in lift net based on simple linear regression show high correlation (strong) with 0.8378 at (17:00 WIB - 00:00 WIB), 0.9058 at (00:00 WIB - 05:00 WIB) and 0.8388 in the entire time of catching.
