Abstract

Stunting merupakan gangungan pertumbuhan yang ditandai dengan keadaan tubuh yang pendek hingga melampaui defisit -2SD di bawah median tinggi badan. Stunting disebabkan oleh kurangnya asupan zat gizi atau penyakit infeksi krons atau berulang. Berdasarkan laporan PSG Kota Palembang (Dinkes, 2017), Puskesmas Boom Baru menduduki peringkat teratas untuk dalam masalah kependekan atau stunting. Prevalensi stunting di Puskesmas Boom Baru yaitu sebesar 18,0%. Bila dilihat dari segi usia, balita dengan usia 24-59 bulan pada puskesmas tersebut mempunyai prevalensi tertinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis determinan kejadian stunting pada balita usia 24-59 bulan di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Boom Baru Kota Palembang pada tahun 2019. Penelitian ini menggunakan Desain Cross Sectional. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah balita usia 24-59 bulan di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Boom Baru. Besar sampel penelitian sebanyak 68 orang, yang diambil dengan teknik accidental sampling. Hasil analisis univariat menunjukan prevalensi kejadian stunting pada balita usia 24-59 bulan di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Boom Baru Kota Palembang sebesar 29,4%. Hasil analisis bivariat (uji Chi-square) menunjukan bahwa dari 13 variabel independen, terdapat 4 diantaranya memiliki hubungan dengan kejadian stunting pada balita usia 24-59 bulan, yaitu kualitas pangan (p value = 0,024), asupan energi (p value = 0,029), asupan protein (p value = 0,043), asupan seng (p value = 0,037). Dari penelitian ini, diharapkan keluarga, terutama ibu dari responden dapat lebih memperhatikan asupan gizi yang diterima oleh anak. Sebagaimana yang diketahui, pada usia tersebut anak sedang mengalami proses pertumbuhan dan perkembangan.
