Abstract

Indonesia ranks 7th in the world, around 49,000 people out of 36.9 million people living with HIV / AIDS worldwide. Indonesia is a developing country with an important research topic that uses a theory-based model to find out the relationship between information, motivation and warfare skills against the development of antiretroviral (ARV) drug consumption in people living with HIV in Palembang. Adherence to the consumption of antiretroviral drugs (ARV) is the key to the successful treatment of HIV infection. This research is quantitative non-experimental using cross sectional with a simple random sampling technique of 106 respondents, which are analyzed univariately and bivariately. The results showed no relationship between information exposure (p-value 1,000> alpha 0.05), motivation (p-value 0.658> alpha 0.05) and behavioral skills (p-value 0.062> alpha 0.05) to consumption benefits ARV drugs. Suggestions for further researchers to be able to discuss other factors that can influence PLWHA in taking Antiretroviral drugs, namely the role of peer support, family support, and social support that can be a supporting factor for increasing PLWHA towards the consumption of ARV drugs.
