Abstract

The nutritional content of duck egg is most influenced by feed that duck consumed. Formulating feed should improve the use of feed efficiency and promote growth so that egg production can be maximized. The objective of this research was to find out the effect of bacteria from Hymenache acutigluma silage probiotic on nutritional quality Pegagan duck’s eggs. This research was held in April to July 2018 at the Field Practice Laboratory, Nutrition and Feed Laboratory, and Microbiology of Fishery Product Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sriwijaya. The treatments were as follow: P0 (control/without addition of probiotics); P1 (addition of 106 cfu/ml probiotics); P2 (addition of 107 cfu/ml probiotics);P3 (addition of 108 cfu/ml probiotics); and P4 (addition of 109 cfu/ml). Variables include egg water content, protein content, and lipid content. Data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the additional of bacteria in water feed decreased the protein content however additional of 107 cfu/ml (P2) was indicated to increase 2,42% lipid content from the control. It was concluded that the addition of bacteria from Hymenache acutigluma silage probiotic in water feed could affect the the nutritional quality of Pegagan duck’s egg.
