Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the needs of students and teachers of class X Srijaya Negara Palembang High School on Learning Media Writing Text Reports on the Results of Observation Based on Powtoon, (2) produce a design of Learning Media Writing Text Reports on the Results of Observation on Powtoon based on an analysis of the needs of students and class teachers X Srijaya Negara High School Palembang, (3) describes the results of expert validation on the Learning Media Writing Text Reports on Powtoon Based Observation Results that have been made by researchers, (4) know the practicality of Learning Media Writing Text Reports on Powtoon Based Observation Results based on one to one trials. The research and development method used for this research is the theory development method of Alessi, S. M. & Trollip, S. R. (2001: 210). Learning Media Writing Text Reports Based on Powtoon Observation Results are prepared based on the results of the analysis of the needs of students and class X teachers of Srijaya Negara Palembang High School. This learning media framework is composed of: instructions, competencies, materials, exercises, references, and biodata of instructor media. This learning media has passed the validation test by three experts, namely: media expert, material expert, and linguist. Based on the results of the validation of the three experts, the Learning Media Writing the Text of the Observation Report based on Powtoon is feasible to be tested in the field with revisions according to the advice given by the experts. Based on the results of the beta test using the one to one method, it can be concluded that practical learning media for use by students with the value of writing the Observation Report Text Report are 100 highly skilled students, 100 moderate students, and 100 low ability students.
