Abstract
This study aims at determining whether there is an influence of classical guidance using short film media on the independence of student learning at SMP Negeri 2 Indralaya Utara. This study adopted an experimental method with a quantitative approach and one group pre-testand post-test research techniques. The population of this study was grade IX students of SMP Negeri 2 Indralaya Utara and the samples usedwerethe students of class IX 2 with a total of 27 students which were chosen by using purposive techniques sample. Data collection techniques in this study used a learning independence questionnaire. From the results of data analysis using the t test (t-test) obtained tcount = 13.76 and ttable in a 5% significance level that is 1.706. This suggests that tcount > ttable or 13.76> 1.706 which means that classical guidance services using short film media has a positive effect in increasing student learning independence.
