Abstract

In the current industrial era 4.0, the development of technology in Indonesia in many sectors has been widely developed and it requires supporting facilities and infrastructure including electricity. An increase in electrical energy demand leads to unbalanced load distributions resulting in a buildup in each phase causing the flow of current in neutral current affecting power losses. This research was conducted at the distribution transformer I.595 of PT. PLN (PERSERO) WS2JB Palembang branch of Rayon Sukarami sourced from Talang Kelapa Substation. Based on the result of measurements and calculations, the research found the neutral current before equalization in the majors B, C, and D of 4.8 A, 3.9 A, and 14.4 A respectively. After the equalization, it reached 0.9 A, 0.6 A, and 0.8 A of each. The amount of total power losses before equalization was 10541.64 Watt (9.7%) and after equalization, it was 10478.819 Watt (9.64%) with the emphasis on losses of 62.641 Watt or equal to 0.06%. And the unbalanced transformer load I.595 in majors B, C, and D reached 18.6%, 10.3%, and 3.6%.
