Abstract

In land use activities must pay attention to land suitability which is a major reference in land use. A land suitability information is needed to determine the suitability of land for a particular use. This research is important to do so that this plantation can be used optimally and optimal land productivity will be obtained. This research was conducted in the plantation area of PT. Cangkul Bumi Subur unit Bumi Subur Estate Keruh River Musi Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra. Location Soil sampling was taken in Division I, namely at blocks J15P09, J22P09, and M17P12. The method used in this research is a detailed level survey method with a scale of 1: 10,000, with the help of a base map with a scale of 1: 37,000. The research location area based on the planting year of oil palm is 54 ha. Determination of the sampling location is done by using the free grid method. Soil sample analysis was carried out in the laboratory of chemistry, biology, and soil fertility, Department of Soil, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University and also at the Laboratory of PT. Binasawit Makmur - Sampoerna Agro, Tbk. The research was conducted for approximately five months, from October 2019 to February 2020. The limiting factor for oil palm plants in the research location is nutrient retention, namely pH.
