Abstract

This study examines patterns of interaction between Hindu-Balinese communities and Local communities in the village of Bali Sadhar located in Way Kanan district, Lampung. This study discusses how the interaction patterns of Hindu-Balinese with Local communities and what are the factors that influence these interaction. This study uses Gillin’s and Gillin’s concepts of social interaction. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method using a case study strategy. The selection of informants uses a purposive method consisting of key and supporting informants as well as research data collection using observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. The findings in this study indicate that interaction between Hindu-Balinese people anda Balinese Sadhar villagers is an interaction that leads to harmonious visits from daily life between people who are tolerant, support each other, and help to help regardless of ethnicity and religion. Factors driving community interaction in the village of Bali Sadhar are always upholding and mutual respect between tribes and religious. While the inhibiting factors of interaction with people in Bali Sadhar ask for help or assess what is asked by each community group and the difference in language use when encouraging in particular language.
