Abstract

Swamp land is one of the alternative sub optimal land which can be utilized for various activities of agricultural production. A problem encountered in the wetlands of the high content of soluble Fe which can be toxic to plants, including corn plants. The application of lime can decrease soluble Fe concentration. The results of previous studies have been reported that fertilizer can improve the growth and yield of food crops and horticulture. This study aims to determine the influence of fertilizer and lime on some characteristics of swamp soil and corn growth. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse with completely randomized factorial design with three replications of treatment with a combination of fertilizer P and lime. Three level of fertilizer each 75 kg P2O5 ha-1, of 112,5 kg P2O5 ha-1, and 150 kg P2O5 ha-1 and four level of addition of dolomite each 1 ton ha-1, 2 ton ha-1, 3 ton ha-1 and 4 ton ha-1. Variables measured include: the content of P in the soil, high plant and number of leaves. The results of the study showed that a dose of SP-36 fertilizer real effect on P-available, number of leaves and plant height. P-available obtained at the highest treatment of 100% of the recommended dose i.e., by 6.65 mg kg-1. The dose of SP-36 fertilizer 100% recommended dosage and dosing of lime 4 ton ha-1 produced the number of leaves the highest 8,90 while the results of the number of leaves of the lowest obtained in treatment SP-36 fertilizer 50% the recommended dose and the dose of lime to 1 ton ha-1 produce the number of 6 leaves. While the height of the plant resulting in the highest soil fertilized SP-36 with a dose of 100% recommended dosage and application of lime with a dose of 2 ton ha-1 i.e 128,35 cm. Elevated levels of pH impact on the increase of nutrients in the soil so that it can provide nutrients needed by the plants.
