Abstract

Folded plate foundation is a type of shallow foundation where this foundation is modification of the Flat foundation with added wings on both sides with a specified length and angle. The folded plate foundations studied were modeled using a flat foundation with a size of 15cm x 15cm and then added a 15cm wing with angles variations of 90º,105º,120º,135º and 150º. The folded plate foundation will be analyzed by carrying out a loading test to determine the ratio between the footprint and the folded plate foundation and how the increase between the folded plate foundation is. The loading system uses a load cell as a loader and two LVDTs as a lowering reader on the foundation. This test is carried out on clay soil that is placed in the test box with a size of 2.1m x 1m x 1m. The results obtained from the loading test are in the form of load and reduction values. Then the data were analyzed by exel to create a graph of the relationship between load and decrease, then the tangent intersection method was used to determine the P value of each angle variation, then look for the carrying capacity. The test results of the bearing capacity value of the flat foundation were 25.52 kN/m2 and for folded plate foundations the angle of 90° was 29.28 kN/m2 increased by 14.73% and increased as the angle of the foundation increased. The largest carrying capacity is found in the 150° folded plate, which is 58.14 kN/m2.
