Abstract

Juvenile delinquency is a social problem that often occurs in societies that are not in accordance with social norms or religious values. Today, juvenile delinquency problems are increasingly felt to disturb the community, both in developed countries and developing countries. In this connection, the Indonesian people have also felt this anxiety. The purpose of this research was to determine the forms of juvenile delinquency and the factors that cause juvenile delinquency in Sidomulyo village, Air Kumbang Subdistrict, Banyuasin Regency. In this research, researchers used qualitative descriptive design research. Data collection used observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The research informants were 8 teenagers and 4 residents of Sidomulyo Village, Air Kumbang Subdistrict, Banyuasin District. The results of this research that the forms of juvenile delinquency that occurred were delinquency in the form of truant, smoking, withdrawing from religious activities, and leading to criminal acts, such as stealing and gambling. And what causes juvenile delinquency is the lack of parental supervision of their children in family life, economic inequality that triggers children to commit deviant behavior, environmental influences that have no obstacles in committing crimes, electronic media (mass media) that broadcast various scenes in the era of globalization and influence the perceptions of adolescents, and social factors also support the emergence of juvenile delinquency, because adolescents want to find their true identity and want to break through the social classes that exist to realize the social class for him.
