Abstract

The purpose of the research was to determine the quality of several rice seeds cultivate in Mukut village. The research was conducted from June 2015 until July 2015 at the Seed Technology Laboratory Department of Agronomy Collage of Agriculture, University of Sriwijaya, Indralaya. Varieties used were varieties Ciliwung, Ciherang and IR64. The parameters observed were purity test, seed moisture, seed viability, seed vigor include germination rate and uniformity rate. Data tabulated and analyzed by descriptive graphs and described along with comparative data obtained from studies in laboratory. These results indicated that the quality of Ciliwung, Ciherang and IR64 used by farmer seed met the quality standards of laboratory test results. The physical and physiological quality of Ciherang from farmers was higher than other two varieties. Purity of Ciherang was also higher than other two varieties.
