Abstract

Narcotics users in rehabilitation places have relatively high anxiety. This is caused by various factors, one of which is low family support (67.7%). The prevalence of drug users in Palembang in 2018 is 1.77% with 3 vulnerable areas, namely Lubuk Linggau City, Musi Rawas Regency, and Palembang City. The purpose of this study was to determine the determinants that influence anxiety in narcotics users in Palembang in 2020. This research was quantitative study with cross sectional design. The data used were primary data obtained from direct interviews and questionnaires. The population in this study were drug users in the city of Palembang. The sample in this study were 68 drug users in the rehabilitation center and were hospitalized. The data analysis used was univariate, bivariate and multivariate analysis using multiple logistic regression test prediction factor models. The results showed that family support, history of rehabilitation, history of relapse and types of substances were related with anxiety in narcotics users in Palembang City. The final analysis of the multivariate model showed that the variables of family support (0.05), type of substance (0.008), history of relapse (0.04) and duration of substance use (0.015) had a relationship with the report. The age variable was the most dominant factor affecting anxiety in narcotics users in Palembang after controlling for confounding variables with PR 4,285. (95% CI;), meaning that narcotics users <20 years of age have a risk of 4.285 times greater risk of anxiety. Therefore, efforts are needed for residents to overcome anxiety. These efforts were made to minimize the occurrence of anxiety disorders, and it is hoped that residents will receive support from family and rehabilitation foundations to improve recovery from narcotics use so as to reduce anxiety due to substance abuse.
