Abstract

The aim of the study is determining the role of self-efficacy toward addiction online games Mobile Legends in palembang city. This study hypothesizes that there is a role of self-efficacy toward addiction Mobile Legends on adolescents in Palembang city. The population of this research was teenagers aged 12-21 years in Palembang City with unknown numbers. The research sample of 150 teenagers in the city of Palembang. Sampling using a purposive sampling technique. The study measurements are online game addiction scale and self-efficacy scale that refer to Griffith and Davies’s (2005) online game addction and the Bandura’s (1997) self-efficacy scale of the dimension. The research used simple regression analysis. The results of a simple regression analysis showed R = 0.553 and R Square = 0.306, F = 65.361, P = 0.000 (p <0.05). The results show that self-efficacy has a significant role in online gaming addiction by 30.6%. Thus the hypothesis proposed is accepted.
