Abstract

The objective of this study was to improve the students activity and learning outcomes of the fourth grade students of SDN 83 Palembang in calculating mathematic of the area of two-dimentional figure through group investigation.This study was used classroom action research which conducted in two cycles, every cycles had four meetings. Each cycle stage includes planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Based on the results and discussion of this study, it was found that in Cycle I with classical completeness of students it reached 48.48% with an average value of 56.47, Cycle I obtained the activeness of students with a classical completeness value of 60.06%. Furthermore, in Cycle II with the classical completeness of students reaching 90.32% with an average value of 88.06, Cycle II obtained the results of the activity of students with a classic completeness value of 90.90%. In conclusion from the data above it showed that there was an improvement of students activity and learning outcomes of the fourth grade students of SDN 83 Palembang in calculating mathematic of the area of two-dimentional figure through Group Investigation.
