Abstract

This research entitled “The Effect of Application of Problem Based Learning Model on Students’ Critical Thinking Skills in History Subject of Eleventh Grade Students at Senior High School Number 2 Prabumulih”. The formulation of the problem in this research is to see how the results of the effect of the application of the Problem Based Learning Model on Students’ Critical Thinking Skills in History Subject of Eleventh Grade Students at Senior High School Number 2 Prabumulih. While the purpose of this research was to determine the results of the Effect of the Application of Problem Based Learning Model on Students’ Critical Thinking Skills in History Subject of Eleventh Grade Students at Senior High School Number 2 Prabumulih. This research was conducted from October 7th until November 11th, 2019. The sample in this research was XI Social Science 1 as an Experimental Class and XI Social Science 2 as a Control Class. The data collection techniques used in this research are using observation sheets. Statistical test which was used to analyze the data in proving hypotheses using the t-test with a significant level α = 0.05 and dk = n1 + n2 - 2 = 58. Based on data analysis, tcount value = 10,40 and ttable = 1.672 with a significant level of 0.05 or tcount 10,40 > ttable 1.672 therefore it can be concluded that there is an effect of Problem Based Learning model on students’ critical thinking skills in history subject of eleventh grade students at Senior High School Number 2 Prabumulih.
