Abstract

PT. Semen Baturaja (Persero), Tbk is a state-owned company engaged in the cement industry. One of the main materials in the cement manufacturing industry is limestone. Limestone is fed by drilling and blasting methods. One of the benchmarks for blasting operations is blasting fragmentation where the limestone fragmentation> 100 cm (boulders) produced is not more than 15%, so that the excavator's productivity can be optimal because the resulting excavator cycle time will be small. The purpose of this study is to assess the performance of drilling, blasting performance and excavator performance. The average drilling geometry is 3.1 meter burden, 4.8 meter spacing, 5 meter hole depth, 2.1 meter powder charge, 2.95 meter stemming, and 0.25 kg / bcm powder factor. From the design of the drilling geometry, the Furukawa Rock Drill PCR 200 drill cycle time is 498.54 seconds or 8.31 minutes per hole and the resulting productivity is 308.46 m3 / hour. The distribution of rock fragmentation resulted from blasting was known using Split Desktop software, where the average boulders was 12.79%. From the blasting fragmentation results, it was found that the CAT 320 excavator cycle time was 21.68 seconds on average. The factors affecting the performance of the CAT 320 excavator are due to work efficiency and fragmentation distribution. The actual work efficiency was obtained at 69.75%, while the work efficiency after the repair was 74.25%, so there was an increase in work efficiency which was 4.5%. The actual productivity of the CAT 320 excavator prior to improvement in work efficiency was 174.39 tonnes / hour and productivity after repairs was 185.63 tonnes / hour.
