Abstract

The need for electrical energy will increase along with the times. Electrical energy is a primary need for human life, many objects require electrical energy to operate. But there are still frequent blackouts that cause human activities to be disrupted. As an alternative, the people uses a generator set as backup energy when there is a blackout. The effect of using the generator set itself is air pollution which is bad for health. Therefore, a motor generator set using electrical energy is the solution to this problem. Motor generator sets using a DC motor must be able to supply energy for a long time. A control system that can be used is to use a battery switching system with Arduino Uno as a control and monitoring system. The battery switching system will convert the motor energy from the main battery to the spare battery by using a contactor when the main battery is low so that the motor can rotate longer. From battery monitoring, it was noted that when the motor was subjected to loading, the current flow was 27-30 Ampere. This current exceeds the motor noun value.
