Abstract

Introduction. Pelvic organ prolapse (POP) is a condition when one or more of the organs in the pelvis slip down and bulge from their normal position (consists of, uterus, vaginal cuff, vesica urinaria, intestine, and rectum) with the organ still inside or outside of the vagina. Risk factors that are related to POP consists of obstetric (parity, delivery method) and non-obstetric (age, menopause, BMI, comorbid factors, and hypertension). The purpose of this study is to analyze risk factors that are related with POP degree. Method. This study is an observational analytical cross-sectional study on 111 patients who examined themselves at Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang in January 2017–December 2019 which were diagnosed with pelvic organ prolapse. This study was conducted in december 2020 at Medical Record Department of RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. Result. Result of the study were analyzed with chi-square, consists of parity (p=0.007), delivery method (p=<0.001), age (p=0.016), menopause (p=0.001), BMI (p=0.005) were all significant related to POP degree. Whereas, comorbid factors (p=0.481) and hypertension (p=0.415) were not significantly related to POP degree. Conclusion. Based on logistic regression analysis, showed that parity amount >4, Overweight BMI, age ≥40 years old have a 99,85% chance of experiencing grade 3 or 4 POP. Age is the most dominan risk factor that influence the degree of POP with a chace of experiencing grade 3 or 4 POP by 19 times.
