Abstract

Pain in labor that can affect the birth process itself. During the first stage of labor, pain will arise due to the contraction of the muscles of the uterus, hypoxia of muscles that contract, cervical stretch, ischemia of the corpus uteri, and stretching the lower uterine segment. Non-pharmacological methods that can be used to reduce pain in the first stage of labor are Counter Pressure. Counter pressure massage is a massage performed by applying continuous pressure to the patient's sacral bone with the base or fist of one hand. This systematic review is used through reviewing published research articles using content analysis. The research method uses electronic data bases such as Google Scholar and Pubmed using the keywords pain, childbirth, and counter pressure. There are 19,317 articles obtained from Google Scolar and Pubmed but after the selection of articles, the article focuses on discussing the influence of counter pressure on labor pain in the first stage accessed by full text within the range of the publisher year 2010-2020. The exclusion criterion is a research article that contains abstark and not good structure (abstract, introduction, method, results, discussion and reference). There are 10 articles that discuss the effect of counter pressure on labor pain at the first stage. Aticles found that match the criteria were analyzed using content analysis. The results of this systematic review of 10 articles on the effect of counter pressure on labor pain in the first stage of the 10 journals have the effect of decreasing labor pain in the first stage that has been given counter pressure therapy.
