Abstract

Background. Seborrheic keratosis (SK) is a common benign epidermal tumor, affecting both men and women, especially those over 50 years of age, the incidence increases with age. The cause of SK is not yet known with certainty. However, many factors can cause SK. Lesions often appear in areas exposed to sunlight, exposure to sunlight is thought to have an important role in the incidence of SK. Objectives. To find out the profile of SK in Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang period of 2017 – 2019. Methods. This research is a retrospective descriptive study with a cross-sectional design. The research data were taken from the medical records of SK patients using a total sampling technique with a sample of 90 patients. Results. The distribution of SK patients was mostly found in 2019 (43.3%). Based on gender, it was found more in women (52.2%) than men (47.8%). Based on age, it was mostly found in the 50-59 years age group (33.3%). The location of lesion mostly found on facial area (63.6%). The largest number of lesions were multiple (60%). The occupation of SK patients was mostly found in individuals exposed to sunlight 3-6 hours/day (47.8%). Conclusions. The profile of SK patients in 2017 – 2019 are mostly women, age group > 50 years, and lesions mostly found on face. Key words: Seborrheic keratosis, SK
