Abstract
Background: Many women choose to wear high heels to support their appearance and work. They tend to wear high heels for a long time. Wearing high shoes for a long time will cause heel pain (Fasciitis plantaris). One of the jobs that requires workers to stand for a long time wearing high heels is SPG. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the use of high heels and long standing with the incidence of Fasciitis Plantaris at SPG Matahari Department Store at OPI Mall, Palembang City. Methods: This research is a descriptive-analytic observational study using a cross-sectional design. Seventy-nine SPG Matahari Department Store at OPI Mall Kota Palembang were selected as research subjects based on snowball techniques. The analyzed data was collected using a questionnaire and the calculation of the height of the heels of the SPG. The data were analyzed using chi-square. Results: Almost all (77.2%) of SPG had Fasciitis Plantaris. Most SPG with plantaris fasciitis were from the age group <25 years (67.2%) and BMI 18.5-25.0 (93.4%). SPG with plantaris fasciitis was dominated by SPG that stood up for> 6 hours (62.3%). SPG with plantaris fasciitis was dominated by SPG who wore shoes with a heel height of ≥ 3 cm (85.2%). There is a significant relationship between standing time (p = 0.015, p <0.05) and shoe height (p = 0.041, p <0.05) with the incidence of Fasciitis Plantaris at SPG Matahari Department Store OPI Mall, Palembang City. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between heel height and length of standing with the incidence of Fasciitis Plantaris at SPG Matahari Department Store at OPI Mall, Palembang City. Keywords: Heel Pain, Fasciitis Plantaris, Long Standing, High Heels, SPG
