Abstract
Background: Surgical action aimed at giving birth to a baby by opening the abdominal wall and uterus is the term sectio caesarea in obstetric. Sectio caesarea is performed for certain medical indications in labor. Sectio caesarea increasing compared to normal delivery, therefore this study was made which aims to determine the profile of patients who performed sectio caesarea in RSIA Rika Amelia Palembang. Methods: This study used a cross sectional design based on secondary data from medical records at RSIA Rika Amelia Palembang in 2019. The samples in this study were all patients who were treated with sectio caesarea and obtained a total sample size of 300 patients. The research variables were obtained from the patients medical records and then the data were processed using software data processing. Results: The results showed that the most age distribution of patients was 20-35 years old, most of the residences were located in Palembang City, the most occupations of patients were those who did not work (housewife), education level of patients was high school education, most parity in primiparous parity, the highest gestational age was aterm gestation, the highest number of fetus was in a single fetus, and the most complicating pregnancy was PROM. Conclusion: From the results of the study, it was found that sociodemography, obstetric history and complications of pregnancy were factors that influenced the sectio caesarea at RSIA Rika Amelia Palembang.
