Abstract

The development of tourist attractions in the city of Palembang has progressed and the development of tourists from year to year has increased, so with the increasing number of tourists every year the potential for tourist attractions is increasing. There are very few tourist attractions that educate the public about animals in the city of Palembang, for example the Bird Park in Palembang is an animal recreation area where only bird species are available, there is no animal recreation area that provides various types of animals. The tourist attractions to be designed are animal museums with functions as education and recreation. The animal museum in question is an exhibition about land animals on display for the needs of the general public as a place for education and recreation. Collectibles in the form of preserved animals in the form of common animals whose population is still large in Indonesia. Meanwhile, collectibles in the form of statues will be intended for endangered or endangered animals. In designing the animal museum, it has a main function, namely the animal museum. The collection of statues in the building is divided into 3 zoning, namely mammals, reptiles, and aves. The main mass is an animal museum in the form of an explanation of various types of animals that are educational and recreational. The animal museum design uses an educational and recreational approach with an analogous architectural building concept. The application of the analogy to buildings is in the form of snake animals. The selection of the snake analogy in buildings is based on the activity pattern in the museum which uses a linear pattern like a snake's body. aims so that the building can tell its own function without having to go into the building.
