Abstract

Edge detection is a method for detecting an object, the object or person in a picture or video. Edge detection using the Canny edge detection method is used to detect whether or not traffic is processed from an image that has been taken using a camera. the image taken is a picture when the vehicle is solid and when the vehicle is not solid. The image is processed using gaussian blur to minimize errors, the results obtained after being processed using gaussian blur are reprocessed into grayscale and then used canny edge detection to find the edges of the object in the image. Then look for the number of contours in the image and compare the number of contours when it is solid or when it is solid. Results of tests performed , 2508 obtained contour is detected when the vehicle is not solid and 4173 contour obtained when the vehicle is solid.
