Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the need for interactive multimedia learning to read understanding fable story text based on Adobe Flash CS6, (2) to describe the objective conditions of using interactive multimedia learning to read fable story text comprehension in class VII SMP Negeri 46 Palembang, (3) to describe the interactive multimedia development design for reading comprehension of fable story text based on Adobe Flash CS6, (4) to describe the results of the interactive multimedia validation of learning to read fable story text comprehension based on Adobe Flash CS6. This research method uses a combination of the modified Borg & Gall and Alessi & Trollip development models. The development stages carried out in this research consisted of five main steps including the research and information collection stage, the planning stage, the development preliminary form of the product, the field test stage and revision product (field testing and product revision), and the final product revision stage. This interactive multimedia is compiled based on the results of the analysis of interactive multimedia needs and the results of the analysis of the objective conditions of the use of interactive multimedia for students and teachers of class VII SMP Negeri 46 Palembang. This interactive multimedia has been validated by three experts. Based on the validity test by linguists, it gets a score of 23 with a percentage of 82.1% from a maximum score of 28 which is categorized as very valid, media experts get a score of 40 with a percentage of 90.9% of a maximum score of 44 which is categorized as very valid, material experts get a score of 25 with a percentage of 78.1% of the maximum score of 32 is categorized as valid. So based on the assessment of the three experts, the conclusion is that interactive multimedia learning to read the understanding of fable story text based on Adobe Flash CS6 is declared very valid.
