Abstract

This study aims to describe the forms of illocutionary speech acts. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The data of this research are sourced from Roman Bumi Manusia by Pramoedya Ananta Toer. In analyzing the data, heuristic techniques were used. The steps are as follows: (1) make observations by means of reading and note-taking techniques on data found in conversations between characters (2) marking utterances that have a tendency to related speech (3) classifying data (4) presented in form of data corpus (5) draw conclusions (6) implications for learning in high school. Based on the research results, there are 177 data on illocutionary speech acts. Includes 65 data on assertive speech acts, 42 data on expressive speech acts, 38 data on directive speech acts, 13 data on commissive speech acts, 19 data on declarative speech acts. Research on illocutionary speech acts on Roman Bumi Manusia by Pramoedya Ananta Toer can be implicated in in Indonesian language learngin In learning to analyze novels or novels in high school (SMA) class XII is found in KD 3.9 "analyzing and the language of the novel or romance".
