Abstract

Kirinyuh secara tradisional sering dimanfaatkan masyarakat salah satunya sebagai obat luka bakar dan diare. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui potensi antibakteri ekstrak daun kirinyuh (Chromolaena odorata) serta menetapkan nilai Konsentrasi Hambat Minimum (KHM) dan Konsentrasi Bunuh Minimum (KBM) terhadap bakteri Bacillus cereus dan Shigella dysenteriae. Simplisia daun kirinyuh diekstraksi secara maserasi bertingkat menggunakan pelarut n-heksan, etil asetat, dan etanol. Ekstrak n-heksan daun kirinyuh mengandung metabolit sekunder terpenoid dan flavonoid. Ekstrak etil asetat daun kirinyuh mengandung flavonoid. Ekstrak kasar dan ekstrak etanol daun kirinyuh mengandung alkaloid, steroid, flavonoid, saponin dan tanin. Uji dilakukan dengan metode difusi agar dengan teknik kertas cakram. Ekstrak n-heksan, etil asetat dan etanol daun kirinyuh menghasilkan aktivitas lemah terhadap bakteri Bacillus cereus dan bakteri Shigella dysenteriae. KHM ekstrak n-heksan sebesar 40 mg/mL, etil asetat sebesar 30 dan 40 mg/mL dan etanol sebesar 30 mg/mL terhadap bakteri Bacillus cereus dan Shigella dysenteriae. KBM ekstrak n-heksan tidak dapat ditentukan, sedangkan ekstrak etil asetat dan etanol sebesar 30 mg/mL terhadap bakteri Bacillus cereus. Ekstrak etil asetat dan etanol tidak dapat ditentukan, sedangkan ekstrak n-heksan sebesar 50 mg/mL terhadap bakteri Shigella dysenteriae.
