Abstract

The embodiment of the Lematang River meander morphometric model uses hierarchical theory to compare river morphology and land use identification in the 1996 and 2019 periods. This study uses Landsat-5 and Landsat-8 data as basic data in testing of the controlling data factor in the form of baseline rainfall from 1974-2005, geological conditions and land cover. This study aims to analyze changes in meander morphometric parameters on land usage to minimize the impact on the study area. The research process was carried out in the upstream part of the Lematang River to be precise in segment 5, segment 6 and segment 7 using preliminary study methods, data collection and data processing. Meander morphometric calculations resulted in a decrease in the perception of macrorelief parameters during mesorelief and had the same river transformation based on the sinousity of segment 5 winding, segment 6 winding and segment 7 winding. The climate scenario in this study states that the intensity of rainfall from the rain point of the upstream area tends to be higher than the downstream. The overall climate occurs in wet months for three months from March, April, May (MAM) and September, October, November (SON), while the dry months are in December, January, February (DJF) and June, July, August (JJA). The land function of the research area was identified from 1996 to 2019 experiencing a significant increase in the area of mining, settlements and rice fields as well as the disappearing land use such as secondary mangrove forest and secondary dryland forest. The Kasai Formation (Qtk), the Young Volcano Breccia Formation (Qhvd), the Alluvial Deposition (Qa) of the Muara Enim Formation (Tmpm), the Air Benakat Formation (Tma) and the Gumai Formation (Tmg) are the controlling factors for morphometric changes due to the dominance of fine grains.
