Abstract

Background: Ischemic heart disease is a condition where the supply of blood and oxygen to a portion of the myocardium is inadequate; this usually occurs when there is an imbalance between the supply and demand for oxygen from the myocardium. One way to treat patients with IHD is through PCI (percutaneous coronary intervention). One of the prognostic tools after primary PCI is using an ECG by means of ST-segment analysis. This is what makes researchers interested in examining the overall ECG image in patients undergoing PCI. Methods: This research is a retrospective descriptive study using medical record data of patients in the Medical Record Installation of Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. The sample for this study is patients who underwent PCI. The data obtained will be presented in table and narrative form. Results: In this study, it was found that before undergoing PCI, most of the patients had ECG features of normal P waves (97.2%), normal PR interval (100%), and normal QRS complexes (96.3%). Meanwhile, abnormal ECG features were found in the form of ST-segment elevation (78%), and T wave inversion (37.6%). After undergoing PCI, most patients had ECG features in the form of normal P waves (97.2%), normal PR interval (100%), normal QRS complexes (100%), normal ST segments (73.4%), and inversion of the T wave (78.9%). Conclusion: Changes in the ECG features after undergoing PCI include a reduction in the wide QRS complex from before and after PCI (from 3.7% to 0%), reduced ST-segment elevation (from 78% to 24%) also ST-segment depression (from 9.2% to 1.8%), as well as an increase in T inversion (from 37.6% to 78.9%).
